On September 27th, a deadly typhoon hit the Philippines with winds reaching up to 150km per hour. The disaster killed 16 people, mostly near metropolitan Manila, which was already soaked due to heavy rain. The police evacuated thousands of people, near the lower area, struggling in the flooding streets. “It's flooded everywhere. We don't have a place to go for shelter. Even my motorcycle got filled with water,” said motorist Ray Gonzales. Near the area of the typhoon, a billboard fell causing many injuries. Throughout the entire of this event, the Philippines stock exchange was closed, and so was all cellphone radio's. In my opinion, it was a good thing that most people were evacuated, and unfortunate that 16 people got killed. 5 hours before this event, some of my close family friends were visiting the Philippines and were actually in that area. It was a good thing they left, before it all happened.
